We are not aware of any restrictions that would prevent you from utilizing WhatsApp but please be advised that results can vary depending on the product type (and whether or not WhatsApp is already installed / setup on your device).
If this will be the first time you have used / installed WhatsApp, you will require a phone number (for verification purposes) when creating an account and so you would need to use a Mobal product that will be assigned a phone number (such as Voice+Data SIM or eSIM for example).
If WhatsApp is already setup and linked to a phone number on your device, WhatsApp should continue to function as normal as long as you have internet access via Cellular Data or via WiFi.
If you intend to purchase a Data-Only product from us (which will not be assigned a phone number) however, WhatsApp must already be installed / active and linked to a phone number on your device in order to use it (as it will not be possible to create / verify a new WhatsApp account with our Data-Only products).
We can confirm that any calls placed / messages sent while utilizing WhatsApp will not incur a call / SMS messaging fee from us. This service will simply utilize the internet connection and so when using Cellular Data (instead of WiFi), this usage will just be deducted from your data allowance.
Additional Note: It’s common for networks to recycle phone numbers and so if you’re purchasing a voice capable Mobal product, we are unable to offer any guarantees that you will be assigned a phone number that has not already been linked to a WhatsApp account.
