The products we offer are assigned a specific high speed data allowance which will vary depending on the product / plan that you select.

Voice+Data SIM / Voice+Data eSIM

Short Term Plans:
If you have selected a Short Term Voice+Data Plan (such as the 30, 60 or 90 day option), you will be assigned a 7GB high speed data allowance which will reset on the 1st of each calendar month.
Once you have exceeded the allowance, basic internet access will still be available but connection speeds will be restricted (to a maximum of 200 Kbps).
If you exceed the allowance and require access to additional high speed data, the only solution would be to switch from a Short Term plan to a Long Term plan with a larger data allowance. Long Term Plans:
If you have selected a Long Term plan, you will be assigned a specific high speed data allowance (which will vary depending on the plan you have chosen) and your data allowance will reset on the 1st of each calendar month.
Once you have exceeded the allowance, basic internet access will still be available but connection speeds will be restricted (to a maximum of 200 Kbps).
If you have exceeded your allowance and you do not wish to wait for the plan to reset, you could consider upgrading to a plan with a larger data allowance (unless you’re already on the largest data plan). V1 SIM Cards:
Alternatively, if you are using the original version of our Physical Voice+Data SIM Card (referred to as “V1” or “Version 1”) due to you purchasing your SIM before Oct 12th 2021, you also have the option of purchasing additional data bundles (at a rate of ¥980 per GB).
Once you have logged in to your Mobal online account (MyAccount), please go to Services > More Information > Additional Extras and choose the data bundle you would like to add.

Data-Only SIM

The Physical Data-Only SIM cards we offer are assigned a specific high speed data allowance which will vary depending on the option you select.
This allowance will provide you with high speed data access whenever possible (up until you have exceeded the allowance or until the end of your 8, 16 or 31 day plan) but connection speeds may be lower during peak times or in areas where the network coverage is poor.
Need more data?
This is a pre-paid product (which means that the data allowance cannot be increased) and so if you require additional high speed data or require the service for a longer duration, the only solution would be to purchase an additional SIM card.
Fair Usage Policy:
If the network receives reports of a high level of usage within a short time frame (usually in excess of 3GB of usage per day), the network may apply their fair usage policy and restrict your connection speed for 24 – 48 hours.
This restriction would only usually be applied for the following day but if 500MB of data or more is used during this day (while the connection speed is restricted), this restriction may be applied the next day as well.
Once the restriction has been applied, basic internet access is usually still available (for services such as loading simple web pages, sending an email etc) but results may vary.
To remove the restriction, we would recommend that you disable data for 1 full day (or ensure that you use no more than 500MB of data for one full day) and we would then expect the restriction to be removed the following day.
Data-Only eSIM

The Data-Only eSIM products we offer are assigned a specific high speed data allowance which will vary depending on the option you select.
This allowance will provide you with high speed data access whenever possible (up until you have exceeded the allowance or until the end of your 8, 16 or 31 day plan) but connection speeds may be lower during peak times or in areas where the network coverage is poor.
Once you have exceeded the allowance, basic internet access will still be available but connection speeds will be restricted (to a maximum of 200 Kbps) for the remainder of your 8, 16 or 31 day plan.
Need more data?
This is a pre-paid product (which means that the data allowance cannot be increased) and so if you require additional high speed data or require the service for a longer duration, the only solution would be to purchase an additional eSIM.
WiFi Devices

Your WiFi device will be assigned a 100GB, 200GB or 300GB high speed data allowance (depending on the plan you have chosen) and your data allowance will reset on the 1st of each calendar month.
Once you have exceeded your allowance, basic internet access will still be available but connection speeds will be restricted (to a maximum of 384 Kbps) until your plan is reset and you’re assigned a new allowance.
If you are finding that you regularly exceed your allowance, the only solution would be to upgrade to a plan with a larger data allowance (unless your device has already been placed on the 300GB plan).
