Installing Your SIM

The method for installing a SIM card may vary depending on the specific cell phone you are using and so if you are not sure how to complete this step, we would recommend that you refer to your handsets user guide for more information.

If you have purchased a physical SIM card, you will receive a multi-cut SIM that can be turned into a Standard, Micro or Nano size SIM (depending on what’s required for your device).

For devices that require a Nano SIM card (the smallest of the three sizes) for example, simply push out the center of the SIM to change it to the correct size.

As long as your device has space for a physical SIM card, your Mobal SIM can be converted to the correct size and so there is no need to worry!

If your device displays a message such as “Insert SIM”, “No SIM” or “SIM Error” for example however, your SIM card may not be installed correctly. Please remove and then re-insert the SIM card to ensure it is inserted correctly (as per the instructions for your device) and then retest the connection.

If your Mobal SIM card is installed correctly but you are outside of a network coverage area / in a location with a poor signal (or you are outside of Japan) however, it would be normal to see a message such as “No service”, “Emergency Calls Only”  or “No Network Coverage”.
